Virtual Reality (VR) is the usage of computer technology to generate a simulated environment. The most important and identifiable component of VR is the head-mounted display (HMD).

Living persons are visual creatures, and display technology is the single main difference between immersive virtual reality systems conventional user interfaces.

Prominent players in Virtual Reality include PlayStation VR (PSVR), HTC Vive, and Oculus Rift.

VR allows collaboration among many colleagues, feigning the sensation of being co-present in the same place. The use of VR in business consistently brings remarkable improvements in training. According to a recent Harvard Business Review article, VR decreases the training time required for Wal-Mart workers from eight hours to fifteen minutes.

The efficiency of using Virtual Reality for education and training during the pandemic has been improved so much by the successful launch of the Oculus Quest mobile VR headset by Facebook in May of 2019.
